Two of the opinion polls shown here have now closed but every month we will feature a new campaign effort.

We have successfully used opinion sampling, letter writing and surveys to represent the views and the voice of parents with disabled children in Sefton.

We have also been invited to submit proposals to Sefton Council to implement the Children's Charter!

We have already led successful SHOUT letter writing campaigns to encourage local MPs to support initiatives in the House of Commons, PAT parents have written to local councillors to encourage them to adopt a charter of principles for disabled children and we have lobbied directors of the local primary care trust to adopt a similar charter for local medical services for disabled children. Click here to find out what SHOUT is all about! In addition to working locally and regionally to represent parent's views, PAT also supports national campaigns as a member of the Every Disabled Child Matters (EDCM) coalition, as a member of the End Child Poverty action group and as supporters of Merseyside Partners in Policymaking. Visit the latest PAT campaign on BBC Action Network.

Disabled children have been included as one of four local priority groups for service improvement in the NHS, through the operating framework. This is the first time that disabled children have been a priority group for the NHS.
